I was born in Owen Sound, Ontario and lived in Southwestern Ontario my whole childhood. After receiving a Political Science Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University I felt called to ministry. I graduated from Calvin Theological Seminary in 2010. My wife Grace-Emma and I were married 2012, the same year we moved to Kelowna to start ministry at KCRC. I like playing the drums and keyboard, playing golf and tennis, riding my motorcycle, and sitting on the beach. I love digging into God’s Word, and thank Him everyday for His grace in Jesus Christ.
Pastor of Evangelism and Congregational Life
I spent my first 21 years in Fort McMurray learning what harsh winters were all about. In 1990 I went to Langley and began my undergraduate studies at Northwest Baptist Theological College (NBTC), where I met my wife Tanya and started our family. After working in enrolment for the college and seminary I entered full-time ministry which eventually led my family to Southern California. After 14 years, God led us back to Canada to be a part of this amazing ministry at KCRC.
My passions stem out of my desire for people to encounter the one true God in a way that changes them from the inside out. I love to help them see their unique giftedness and the greater purpose for their lives in the gospel narrative. Mentoring and coaching is something that comes naturally for me because of my longing for people to see how and why God has made them who they are. When you see the church come together, it leads me to celebrate the beautiful, creative tapestry God has made and the blessing it is to each member and the community.
I was born in Cambridge, Ontario but spent most of my formative years as a missionary kid in the Dominican Republic. I studied mainly through extension while living in the DR and have a degree in Child & Youth Development. God has placed a distinct passion in me for mentoring teens through the tough years of questions and figuring out who God has created them to be. I moved to Kelowna in 2012 and married Nick that same year. I’m in my 6th Youth Ministry Season as Youth Director at KCRC and have felt honoured and blest to have gotten to be part of many youth’s lives. My hobbies include art, writing, travel & singing. I’m grateful to God for each season of life and learning to rely on His grace more fully through each one.
After living most of my adult life in Edmonton, Alberta, God created an opportunity for me to move to Kelowna in 2013 to be closer to my parents to help and support them and to use my gifts of administration and leadership at KCRC. I feel so blessed that He has prepared such a wonderful niche for me where I can serve in my giftedness and make a difference for His Kingdom! I love my work in the church office and am passionate about leading people in worship. I am grateful every day for the way God opens my eyes to see Him at work in this broken world.
